Bloomington Holiday Events for the Whole Familiy

A beloved Bloomington holiday tradition, the Chimes of Christmas is an annual IU Jacobs School of Music production featuring the IU Wind Ensemble, Trombone Choir and all 125 members of the Grammy-nominated Singing Hoosiers. This concert is one of the most popular holiday celebrations in town and showcases a variety of beloved holiday songs sich as "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," "Carol of the Bells" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

The Chimes of Christmas is presented each year in December. Join us this year on December 5th for this annual Christmas event in Bloomington.


The Bloomington Pops is a local organization that strives to present to excellent quality orchestral, solo, and/or ensemble vocal and instrumental performances in various styles of light classical and popular music that will entertain, educate, and enrich the lives of the listeners. The Bloomington Pops presents two well-known annual events in Bloomington.

Christmas with the Pops is a Bloomington holiday tradition, held each December. In addition, the Pops have also performed at the Hoagy Carmichael Festival and other area events.

The Bloomington POPS Orchestra and Chorus is ready to pack your sleigh with all your favorite holiday tunes at “Christmas with the POPS” on Friday November 23, 2007 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre, with 5:30 pm and 8:00 pm performances surrounding the Canopy of Lights ceremony. Enjoy the warm and wintry sounds of saxophonist Otis Murphy, jazz vocal ensemble Six In the City, Terre Haute harpist Gracie Forthun, pre-show entertainment from Carl's Christmas bells, a sing-a-long, and a visit from Santa! Advanced sale reserved seating is available for both shows and may be purchased at the Sunrise Box Office or online at the POPS website

Fun Holiday Events in Mesa for the Whole Family

Mesa Arts Center:
Ballet Etudes will be accompanied by the Symphony of the Southwest to present this holiday classic and valley tradition. This is Ballet Etudes' 21st annual presentation of "The Nutcracker” and the first year to include live music accompaniment exclusively at the Mesa Arts Center Ikeda Theater. Babes In Toyland: Broadway Palms Children's Theatre shows are fun for everyone! Children's Theatre presentations are performed by professional actors with full-scale sets, costumes and lighting. Phoenix Zoo:
ZooLights: The magic begins after the animals at the Zoo go to sleep! Jengo the talking giraffe will return to entertain kids, Stingray Bay will be open with some new species to touch, plus there will be an all new dancing tree show! ZooLights is one of the largest holiday light shows in the southwest with 2.5 million lights, hundreds of custom lighted animal displays with new ones appearing every year, carousel rides, camel rides, wagon rides and more!
