Okay, its the DMV, but its the best DMV office I have ever been to.  The lines usually go fast and the people are okay, some are even friendly.

went yesterday and it was scorching hot. we had to wait in line outside and there was an employee standing at the door so no one would go inside. he would occasionally let one or two people in by cracking open the door and asking what their business was. we felt like orphans begging to be let in. it was absurd. don't waste your time. the staff here makes your dmv even more miserable. so un called for. power trip city employees, get a life!

I went and the staff was actually NICE!?!?!? Incredible.
I just ride my bike now though so I hope to not go to ANY dmv anymore...

Also, their doggie mascot is quite adorable.

I never understood why there was so much animosity towards the DMV. I've always gone to the one in Lincoln Heights, I'm guessing during non-impacted hours, and never waited for more than 20 minutes, maybe 30.
The day I stepped into this DMV I said, "Aahhh!!!! This is why." I got there at about 8:30 am (it opened at 8) and there was a line around the corner. I dont remember how long it took for me to finally step inside the building and actually get a number. I got G67 and at that point they were on G17. So I waited and waited... and waited... I stuck up a conversation with a guy (his number was G68) about our cell phones (he had a blackberry I have an iphone). The argument helped pass the time. lol. At one point I went outside to get some air and then came back in when i heard they were at G55. I went to the restroom since i had been waiting patiently for hours in an uncomfortable chair. when I came out I saw G67 on the screen, window 20. I ran and there was the guy with G68 barely arriving at window 20, just a few steps ahead of me. I told the DMV employee I was G67 and the blackberry owner said he had no problem stepping aside and waiting. I think his name was Mark Clark (obligatory shout-out for being cool!). The motherflower dmv employee, however, said he had been waiting for an entire minute for me to arrive! ONE minute! It's so crowded even if someone wasnt in the restroom, just waiting on the other side of the building, it would take more than a minute to get there! It was a stocky Asian guy with glasses and short hair. Did I mention I had a flight to catch? Yep! I was going to be able to make it in time but the employee says, "you're going to have to get a new number". I felt like my internal organs fell out of my stomach! I will have to say, at least they let me get the number directly instead of sending me back outside and waiting in that long line. Thanks DMV, you guys are swell! (commencing eye-roll sequence) I got the number and i think it was G124 or G127, but does it really matter? I had 45 minutes to get to the burbank airport and by that time, I'm sure they would have advance about 10 numbers. So after a few hours, they called my number, and in less than 3 minutes I had what I needed and was on my way. I'm not exaggerating with the 3 minutes, it may even have been 2.5 minutes... So I was there from 8:30 am to about 3 pm.
Now I have jumped on the DMV hatred boat... and dont think I'll be getting off it anytime soon.

As usual the service is super slow and the guy who works on window #26 is very rude because when we were late by a few minutes to arrive at this window, he did not  not help us and instead he told us to wait on the side because he already  called a different number. Why did he not wait for us when were only late by a minutes or two? Anyway, there was a lady that helped us because the customer infront of us is taking forever to finish their business.

I love this place.

The long lines........

The Armenian and Korean languages that sound weird individually, but when spoken at the same time amongst everyone in the same office, its like an International Love song sang by the Earth Chorus...! hahahaha

I remember how bad this place was a few years ago, but now with this new numbering system, it goes by pretty well.

Let me tell you of this amazing tale of a wonderous adventure.

Twas many moons ago when I chose become a traveler / explorer.
But when I first set foot on that road, i was told that i needed permission to go alone. I needed to visit this place, where lines of Worldly folk get together.

The smell of Kimche, Armenian Chicken, Panda Express, Chicken adobo, and toothpaste was in the Air. aHHHHHH what a scent.

As i stood there, the lines winded down to a very Wise woman named Information, and she gave me a note that said B28, that was my sign that would take me to the Magical Creatures that allow me to transport myself freely.

As my number was called, i was told to meet in a room with other Warriors with the same Goal. We fought through tedious and gruesome tests of knowledge, skill, and human common sense.

and at the end of the day........ some did not make it through this ordeal, but the few who were determined to win and did, were given the rights to Travel alone..................... but not without taking $22 from us... BASTARDS...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hahahahahha sorry yall im bored at work...!!!!

With a line out the door and around the building, waiting for two hours to get to the front of the line only to be fed attitude? Me thinks not... Expect an extra special level of hell when you approach this place if you dare...

You're better off taking the time to head over to Pasadena, or hit the DMV in Culver City which has always been efficient, and courteous every time I went there... That's where I'll keep going from now on...

It's the DMV! You expect that walking into any DMV is like crossing the River Styx - a very slow moving and excruciating experience. And I'm sure we've heard the horror stories of DMV employees, yadda yadda. But this location - eh... not so bad! Relatively speaking, of course.

I have to give the Glendale location a little extra because it's where I (1) aced my written driver's permit exam and (2) ALMOST failed my driving exam - but the guy let me pass with 15/16 points knocked off. And now I'm out on the streets showing off my barely-passing driving skills (which of course are actually the best driving skills out there, the tester just didn't realize it) - so outta my way!

That line is pretty gangsta. Do what I did, make an appointment. Then you won't have to get into that line that goes out the door. Instead, you will follow the signs that takes you to the other far end. You should be greeted with a much shorter line and a red carpet. Plus the lady here seemed happier which she probably is because her line doesn't look like a line that forms at LAX International airport.

Besides making an appointment, get everything done at one time. If you need to get a CA ID, take the M1 written exam, renew your normal class C driver's licence, register a vehicle, whatever it is, just get it all done in one shot. Who in their right mind likes visiting the DMV so often. You can do up to three things at once per visit I think? Don't quote me on that.

Besides that, I have no major complaints on this location. I got my paper work done and it didn't take all day.

I do warn you about the nazi lady behind the counter in the written exam area. There was one really cool, mellow girl and there was this other lady who I swear probably fought the Turks in her homeland. She still has that mentality! Be careful; absolutely no chatting in the exam area, no cell phones, stand where she tells you, and do what she says or else you will get chewed out!

So as i turn the corner coming up to the Glendale Dmv, i near had a heart attack seeing that the line went out the door and around the block. Really regretting that i didnt make an appointment online. What was so surprising was that I lined up, filled out my forms, took my written test& picture and was out of there in a hour.

Maybe it was just me, but the workers weren't rude and overworked like I've seen at the Hollywood locations. Whats even better is that they don't lead you around in circles asking for useless additional paperwork. Will come here for all my DMV need =]. Also doesn't hurt to bring an mp3 player with you.
