My sisters friend told me about this market and I'm glad I tried it out. Prices are great. It's a huge market and has a huge deli, meat department, produce and every Mediterranean and middle eastern thing you can think of.

My favorite part is the nuts and dried fruits section. I love almonds and they are even cheaper than Costco.

The market does get packed certain times of the day so I like coming in the mornings as they open.

Are you kidding me guys?  I had to open a yelp account just because of the horrible customer service and unprofessional of this grocery store.   First off, when you check out you're not greeted with a hello, a smile or a thank you after a purchase.  It seems like they want to top off their unprofessional behavior by setting your change on the counter instead of in your hand.  I finally had my last straw when the cashier (usually 99% always an Armenian woman) practically threw my change into my hand.  I was so shocked I looked at her in disgust waiting for her to look at me.  Which she didn't.   Please DONOT support this grocery store.  Most of their clientele are Armenian, and you will quickly find out why.  I live in Glendale and feel like I live in a different country.  Armenian women in particular seem like very angry, unpleasant, bad attitude energy people (really almost in-human).  I think very highly of my direct neighbors who are Armenian (I live in Glendale, so almost everyone around me is Armenian), I know other Armenians who are very, very nice people.  But for those who are not Armenian and live in an Armenian community always have something negative to say about their attitudes.  Im just saying I will proved right every time if you support this grocery store!

Interesting and tasty foods.  Good Russian cheese and Armenian bread.  People here weren't so friendly though and some of the boxes were dusty.

I'm so glad to have found GF.

I have one favorite farmer's market, but most of the time I'm working and can't go.  When I did have the chance to go, I would stock up and the veggies would last at least two weeks because they were so fresh...  But alas, I am rarely able to go.

Golden farms has so much available in their produce section, I get a bit overwhelmed.  I park my cart out of the way and walk around retreiving veggies for my basket.  It's always that busy.  Their prices are simply unbeatable anywhere.  And the veggies I have purchased have lasted at least a week - fruits, too!  I haven't had to stock up, so I can't say if they would last as long as the farmer's market.

I also love ethnic specialty stores.  So, GF is like one stop shopping for me.  I've tried a number of their brands for some of my fridge staples: olive oil, yogurt, bread, butter, etc.  I haven't found a reason to go back to the other brands at other, higher prices.  Good stuff.

It's my kind of grocery store.  Still haven't tried the deli.  I've been too busy cooking. :)

I gave this place an additional star for the "adventure" aspect of shopping here.  It's a bit chaotic with the layout and the jumble of shoppers blocking the aisles (at times), but there are some good values in the produce department and a big selection of imported foods.  This is also a good place for spices and bulk foods like beans, rice, bulgar, nuts, etc.  Some of the packaged foods look like the have been on the shelves for awhile, and the place is kind of dusty and unsanitary, but I'm just trying to portray it accurately.  That being said, I think it's worth checking out.  You will either find some good values or some strange new item that you've never tried before.

I dig this place for the people-watching moreso than anything else.  Warning; there is a LOT of fake Ed Hardy, magenta hair and pretty much everything in between but that's what makes it fun.

Their produce can range from superb to shoddy in 10 seconds flat, so pick carefully.  Their prices cannot be beat that's for damned sure!  It makes me feel like I'm in another country when shopping there, which I dig.

Great prices on feta, bulk nuts/rice/lentils, etc.  It's weird and fun and you take your life in your hands when in their parking lot - what's not to love?  It's like Death Race 2000 meets Supermarket Sweep.

#1 Armenian grocery store which also carries mainstream and Latino goods.

Cheap:
Golden raisins
Dried orange peels
Dried cranberries
cashews
apricots
rice
beans
sodas  (We're talking Costco prices)
lots of frozen foods (Costco prices)

Other reviewers felt the vegetables and fruits seemed a little beaten up but I was there on Sunday around 11:00 am and it's possible that they just brought in a supply---everything was fresh.

AMAZING selection of Armenian AND European dried goods such as biscuits, chocolates and teas.  There is a deli, bakery  and a small seafood section.  Every kind of lavash, lahmajune, picked cucumbers, chilis even ready to eat dolma.  This is clearly not your mom and pop mini Armenian grocery--this place is HUGE!

If you are new to Armenian food just grab a few snacks, a bag of pita chips and choose from an array of bell pepper dips.  Pick up some rice and kabob from the deli and SMILE when you see your total price.

Parking is plentiful but everyone zoomed in and out at 40mph...you've been warned.

This is an adorable little Russian marketplace. It's not just food - they have a liquor store, a dry cleaners, a jewelry store, a clothing store, a barber... it was insane how much stuff there was. They had a lot of Russian food, but they also had regular groceries, like frozen entrees (I bought a Lean Cuisine).

Tons of little old Russian ladies wandering around. I'll definitely come back here the next time I forget my lunch.

I know.. I'm a downer. But... sorry, it may have been just a bad day, but the vegetables were pretty darn picked over, and what was left was in pretty bad shape. It may have been due to a busy day before, but I was underwhelmed.

Yes, it's a big place. Awesome if you need.. bulk nuts, bulk basmati, lentils, and a few other things.

- good selection of middle eastern groceries
- moderate selection of indian spices (Rani, Patak)
- large selection of fish, although can not vouch for freshness/quality

$5 minimum on credit or debit purchases
$50 maximum on personal checks

Nice big parking spaces!

I traipsed out here in search of fresh sour cherries. I did find sour cherries, but in the freezer department. But there were lots of cheap fresh produce, including bing cherries for about 1.19 a pound. Good deal. It's super-crowded, even on a weekday morning. People tend to straggle.

There is a bakery section, featuring persian/armenian pastries from neighborhood bakeries. I had stopped by before work and picked up a tray of Nazook, to take to my office.  It happened that my husband opened it, and guess what he found. A lab's worth of MOLD.
If i lived closer I would have been back the next day, but it just didn't seem worth it. But STAY AWAY FROM THE PACKAGED BAKED GOODS!
